Lay the cards upside down and take turns finding matching pairs.
Line the letters up in front of the class with a handful missing. Students place the missing cards in the right place.
Students work in small groups to put a pile of mixed up letters in alphabetical order.

Give each trainee a letter and challenge the whole class to get the letters in order without your help. If you can, do this face because they will make alot of noise. When the students are in line take a photo and put it on the classroom Notice board. It's extra extra if the students can color the letters in first.

Give students the letters of their names to color and decorate. If space and time is miniature just use the first letter of their name. These look great filled with a collage of colored paper, sequins and glitter. Stick them on a class wall, give them to students to take home or use them, one name at a time to focus on a star of the week.

10. Letter Boxes
Letter sorting boxes are great for lower grades studying to read and write. Generate a box for each letter and fill it with things that start with that letter
The "things" can be pictures, photos, words written on card, stuffed toys, found items, and household objects.
